Our First Blog

Hi Everybody! I am a novice blogger, so I'll keep this short. We want to thank everyone for your support as we've gone through our first big month as parents! It's been a bumpy ride, but wonderful! We feel like we're sort of getting the hang of this parenting thing (for now)... Cooper is a wonderful baby with a very sweet temperament. He's very patient. He loves to cuddle and be near people. He likes to be on the move- car rides, the stroller, the swing, the baby bjorn, anything! He loves bath time and diaper changes. He is starting to become more and more alert, he looks toward noises and sounds. He'll find us by our voices. But, he hasn't really started to smile or coo much yet. We're still waiting for that to come. He's really strong. He lifts his head up and can hold it up for a while. He's now 14 pounds! That puts him in the 95th percentile! He loves to eat and every mealtime he acts like we've starved him for months. He's like his mom- he realizes he's hungry and he has to eat RIGHT THEN! Anyway, it's been a real blessing to have Scott off work and Heidi on maternity leave. We've spent time together figuring out what to do with a newborn. It's been nice to have so much of each others' support. Props to all you parents that go right back to work (or have more than one child)- I don't know how you do it! Well, Cooper has reached the one month old mark. He's going to get his pictures taken tomorrow. I'll be sure and snap a few before we go so that we have pictures of this big boy!
